Kintsugi Healing Philosophy

There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in

Kin-tsu-gi in Japanese literally means ‘to join with gold’ and is applied to ceramic vessels.

The art of the healing philosophy of Kintsugi brings broken pieces into unity.

Something that was previously considered useless or to be discarded is restored and now seen in a new light. The effort and patience invested in its repair commands our attention and we recognise it as unique and authentic for having gone through a process.

Much like the vessel, as people we can end up with fractures and breaks, scars, knocks, flaws and imperfections. Our plans fail, we lose people, other people let us down, our health fails us sometimes too.

At Kintsugi Therapies we see that this is only part of the story.

Using the time tested modalities of Acupuncture, Remedial massage , Chinese herbal medicine, & Cupping therapy Kintsugi Therapies views these health challenges as an opportunity to heal and grow as people, to accept that change and challenge are inevitable but when we tap into and connect with our inner resources we can transform, renew and re-imagine the possible, even as the pieces lay at our feet.

I aim to listen with genuine curiousity to your unique health challenge. Therapies by themselves may help but therapies delivered with care, empathy, skill and understanding can be powerful tools for change, especially when practitioner and client collaborate to try to bring about the optimal conditions for that change.

If you’ve neglected your health for whatever reason, been dealt some bad cards lately or just feel you could do with some support to get back on track Kintsugi Therapies door is open and I invite you to come on in.
