What's really going on with Stress, Burnout & Overwhelm

Stress Isn’t Just in Your Head...

...It’s a Full-Body Response.

When your brain senses threat — real or imagined — your nervous system flips into fight, flight, or freeze. Stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline surge.

That’s fine if it’s temporary. But when stress becomes chronic, constant, or overwhelming, your body gets stuck in survival mode — unable to switch off.

This impacts:

  • Sleep — wired at night, exhausted by day

  • Digestion — bloating, cramps, or gut tension

  • Mood — flat, anxious, teary, or irritable

  • Hormones & immunity — depleted, run-down, or inflamed

Acute Stress vs. Chronic Stress

Acute StressChronic Stress / Burnout
Short-termOngoing, background stress

Stress, Overwhelm & Burnout Support Needs a Roadmap —
Here’s Ours

Full Health & Lifestyle Assessment

We’ll look at and assess your lifestyle, work, sleep patterns, stressors, digestion, mood and more.

We build your plan

This might include a mix of treatments like acupuncture, massage, cupping, heat therapy, movement advice, food tweaks or lifestyle shifts.

We Calm Your Nervous System

People coping with high stress or burnout have a “hyper-alert” nervous system. Our treatments aim to help bring it back down — so your body feels less reactive and more settled. A calmer nervous system helps regulate and stabilise mood and improve sleep quality

We Treat the body directly

Tight muscles, restricted joints, poor circulation are common for people coping with stress & burnout — we’ll use hands-on therapies like massage, cupping, gua sha and more to help calm the body and ease the mind.

We Support you Beyond the Clinic

You’ll get access to supportive resources via apps, pdf , videos and handouts — so you can reinforce what we’re doing in-clinic with at-home tools and mindset shifts.

We Refer if Needed

If we think another specialist could help speed your progress (e.g., CBT specialist, psychologist), we’ll let you know. Your recovery is our focus.

FAQ’S about acupuncture

Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate pain, improve circulation, and restore balance. These points come from a traditional system used for over 2,000 years.

Yes. Acupuncture is very safe when performed by a qualified practitioner. Most side effects are mild and temporary, such as small bruises or slight tiredness.

Most people find an acupuncture session gentle and calming. You may feel a slight tap or tingling, but many clients relax or even fall asleep.

Acupuncture works by calming the nervous system, reducing the “fight-or-flight” response and activating the body’s natural relaxation pathways. By stimulating specific points, acupuncture can help lower stress hormones, improve circulation and balance energy flow. This helps ease muscle tension, quiet a racing mind, and improve sleep quality. Over time, regular treatments can support emotional resilience, restore energy levels, and help rebalance the body’s stress response — making it easier to cope with daily pressures and recover from burnout.

Most people notice meaningful change within 3 to 6 sessions. We tailor the plan based on your condition and how your body responds.

Most acupuncture points are accessible if you are wearing loose fitting clothing. Acupuncture points on the back are commonly used, however, I will always drape appropriately when using these points.

Your privacy and personal comfort will always be top priority to me.

Yes — acupuncture is covered by health funds under most extras policies. We provide receipts with provider details for easy claiming.
